Visit Lubbock, the Convention and Visitor Bureau is Lubbock's official tourism entity and is funded by a portion of the city’s hotel/motel tax and is a division of the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance. In addition, The Lubbock Sports Authority, whose expressed mission is ''to establish Lubbock as the Sports Capital of West Texas and Eastern New Mexico''.
