2026 YP Lunch with a Leader featuring Fire Chief- Rich Stewart

Chief Richard Stewart currently serves as the 11th Fire Chief of Lubbock Fire Rescue, appointed to the position on October 7, 2024. Prior to joining Lubbock Fire Rescue, Chief Stewart dedicated 30 years to the City of Irving Fire Department, where he served as the Assistant Chief of Special Services. 

Chief Stewart holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and has earned several prestigious certifications, including the Fire Service Chief Executive Officer Certificate from Texas A&M University and the Certified Fire Executive designation from the Texas Fire Chiefs Association. He is also a graduate of the Fire Service Executive Development Institute. 

With experience in every role within a comparable fire department, Chief Stewart brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership expertise to Lubbock Fire Rescue.
