Join us for our July Lunch with a Leader Featuring Randy Christian, an award-winning and nationally recognized marketing professional with more than 30 years experience in the industry, Randy served as District 5 representative of the Lubbock City Council from 2018 to 2022,
A native West Texan, Randy has a long track record of leadership that not only has included his professional career, but civic, community and governmental involvement as well.
A native of Amarillo, he attended Amarillo College and the University of North Texas, and began his marketing career with Waddington Advertising in Lubbock. He was managing partner of Holland, Merriman and Christian, an advertising agency which provided creative consultation for the first successful political campaign for then-State Representative Robert L. Duncan, and former Chancellor of the Texas Tech University System. Randy later served as Executive Vice President and Managing Partner of Fellers Marketing and Advertising before launching his own agency, RC&P Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations. He has served as Marketing/Advertising Director for the McGavock Auto Group for five years. He is now retired.
Among his successes are award-winning brand campaigns for Lubbock Methodist Hospital System, Covenant Health, Lubbock National Bank and Texas Tech University Alumni Association and Abuelo’s. He is also a Silver Medal winner given by the American Advertising Federation, Lubbock Chapter, for which he also served as board member and president.
Randy’s community service includes past membership on the Executive Committee of both the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce and Lubbock Area United Way, board member of the Covenant Health Foundation, the Texas Tech University Chancellor’s Council and Jerry Gray Foundation He also served as a Lubbock City Council member. Randy also has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Joe Arrington Cancer Center Board Chair of the American Cancer Society, Lubbock Chapter and the Lubbock Centennial Celebration Committee.
Randy and his wife, Margaret, recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Margaret, who had a lengthy career of service with the State of Texas, served as an auditor for Lubbock-based City Bank and is now retired They have two sons: Peter is employed by Applied Materials, Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah, Philip holds a Bachelor and Masters Degrees from the Texas Tech College of Media and Communication. He is married to Adriana, has two sons Cason and Zayn, is self-employed and lives in San Antonio, Texas.
The Christians are longtime active members of Monterey Church of Christ.
